About Our Affiliates
Affiliates are one of the primary backbones of our organization. They represent the Food Banks, grocery stores, food-related businesses, and other organizations who consistently provide access to the physical food resources we need to feed the hungry in Hall County. Our primary affiliates are The Georgia Mountain Food Bank and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. We also receive physical supplies from food drives and other fundraising events hosted by our Partners and Donors throughout the year.
We are an affiliate of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. We take the generous cash donations we receive and purchase food supplies at a deep discount over what we would have to pay for them at retail. We are able to take a dollar ($1) we receive from our donors and partners and convert it to 6.25 pounds of food supplies. For example, if you buy a 15oz. can of beans at your local grocer, it might cost you 60 cents. That same can of beans will only cost us 16 cents. Similarly, a pound of ground beef at a local retailer might cost $3.50 whereas we only pay 16 cents for the same pound of ground beef. That's leverage and we are so grateful.
We are an affiliate of the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). The ACFB was founded in 1979 and procures over 35 million pounds of food and groceries each year an distributes it to more than 600 non-profit partner agencies like the South Hall Community Food Pantry. Utilizing more than 1,000 volunteers a month and over 100 staff members, ACFB mobilizes an entire community through food supply acquisition and distribution, educational resources, empowerment tools, and a vital calendar of events such as the annual Hunger Walk. Thank you, ACFB, for all you do!

How Do We Work with Restaurants, Bakeries, and Grocery Retailers?
Food and grocery retailers and bakeries assist us in a variety of ways. For example, a restaurant may feature a dinner event whereby 20% of its customer billings are donated to our food pantry. We help restaurants create events like this.
Another example is a grocery store that donates the bags we need to distribute our food items to the hungry. Similarly, a grocery store may provide certain special coupons or discounts in support of our pantry. There are a variety of ways we can and do work with local grocery stores. Bakeries work with us by donating fresh baked bread or pastries as a part of their community support programs. Join us, we will help with the creativity you need to create an event or sponsor a special arrangement in support of the food pantry. Let's make a difference.
