Our Service Vision

Our vision is to feed the hungry of Hall County in body and spirit.  Our goal is to supply food-insecure residents of Hall County with 3-4 days of nutritious food items, personal hygiene products, and necessary household items.  By doing so, we assist families with stretching their dollars and freeing up resources to provide for their other needs, such as:  shelter, utilities, and prescriptions.  We provide a path to more financial security.

Where Does Our Food Come From?

Image of food sources for the pantry (Food banks, retail shopping, food drives)
We are members of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and the Atlanta Community Food Bank Cooperative.  Food Banks are repositories for donated items from manufacturers, distribution centers, restaurants, grocery stores, and more.  Food Pantries like ours are able to receive items from Food Banks at a significantly reduced rate (16 cents/pound).  Through cash donations from our patrons, sponsors, and the community, we are able to take a $1 we receive in cash and convert it to 6.25 pounds of grocery items.  That's leverage.

From time to time, our needed supplies cannot be found at the local food banks and we have to obtain supplies from local retailers.  In those circumstances, we employ a wide variety of cost saving methods to obtain as much leverage as we can at the retail level.

We also receive generous donations of needed items from local community food drives.

Volunteering is Rewarding in So Many Ways!

"My husband Richard and I have been volunteering at the Food Party since 2005.  At one of the board meetings I spoke to Mary Alice and decided to take on the ordering from the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  It is very rewarding to know I can help in some small way.  In 2006 I retired as a Pediatric RN . I'm a cancer survivor and God has blessed me so that I can still continue to help people."  ~ Diane
