We Have a History of Dedicated Service
We have served the hungry in Hall County, Georgia with nutritious foods for over 15 years. While our growth record speaks for itself, it does not convey the meaning and appreciation for those who make our growth possible. We are an all volunteer organization and we are supported by various member church Sponsors, a gifted and growing group of volunteers, local business patrons, caring foundations, and individual donors. We could not have achieved our history of service delivery without each and every volunteer, board member, and financial contributor. It is in their honor that we share our history with heartfelt gratitude.
In 2003, three churches coordinated together with a desire to create a food pantry in the south Hall County area: St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Christ Lutheran Church, and Oakwood First United Methodist Church. By early 2005, the South Hall Community Food Pantry became a reality and officially opened its doors in a small storage building donated by Oakwood First United Methodist Church which sits on the edge of their property. Over the years, the pantry has had the humble privilege to hand out food to anyone who has been in need, pray with them or support them. The faces may have changed but the hearts have been steadfast in their desire to continue to provide people in Hall County with the the food they need when they need it. It cannot be overstated enough how much each person, business, church, and organization that has been a part of the food pantry through donations, time, or money has been integral to the pantry's success. We are excited to continue to supply food for those in need and look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come. |
